Insider Knowledge and an Outsider's View of Hong Kong

The Peak, Hong Kong

"If you love to eat and shop, you will love Hong Kong (HK)." This is how my husband, Perry, describes my hometown.

I was born, raised and lived in this city for 29 years until I married and moved to the States.

Since then, I go back to visit my family and friends almost every year. Even though when I lived there, things have been changing all the time. So, you could find new places to go and new things to do almost every day. Not to mention that every time when I go back, it is very different.

When you are not there every day, things seem change quicker than you thought. So, it is always nice to explore new stuffs when we go back to visit with family and friends.

The Giant Buddha

But after going back so many times and spending so much money on each trip, we realized that there are many people, just like us, that take vacation days from work. Then, you spend a ton of money just on air tickets and hotel. Going there takes at least 18 hours a trip to fly. So, back and forth, you lose at least 2 days, not counting any flight cancellations.

Have you ever been to some places that you spent a ton of money and it was a big disappointment? Yes, we have been there.

Therefore, we will tell you almost everything and every fact about this small city, whether it is good or bad. Then, you can decide what fits you the best.

The Jumbo (Floating Restaurant)

It is not only a place to eat and shop, but also many fun things to do, such as sightseeing, swimming, traveling to other Asian countries ('cos it is the hub of Asia), watching movies and musical performances from all over the world and many more.

No matter where you go, you can feel the East-meets-West atmosphere around you.

Hong Kong Chi Lin Nunnery

We want to give you the experience of touring with a Hong Kongnese guide along with me (as a tourist at the same time because I don't live there on a daily basis now) who will represent you and look at this city from a very different angle to tell you how different it is compared to other countries.

So sit back and enjoy your virtual tour with us.
